Blood Lust Slot Review – ELK Studios

ELK Studios have had a lot of success within their GOLD and Classic slot series. It has been a while since a new game has been added to either. I recently reviewed ‘Crusader‘, which has simple mechanics and felt lacklustre. Next from the provider is something I did not expect from ELK Studios. Their next slot release is titled ‘Blood Lust‘, set to release April 7th across all sites.

Blood Lust has a vampire theme, which is not so saturated in the industry in 2020. But I am surprised ELK Studios has chosen this theme for a game release. The background is a gloomy environment with a castle and dying trees and a gloomy nightfall. The game visuals are disappointing as I know ELK can really impress us with their artwork and visual design. The appearance really lets this game down for first impressions.

This game has a setup of 5 reels by 4 rows, this includes 99 set pay lines. Blood Lust is a medium variance game due to the set RTP of 96% and max win capped at 2,500x. You can bet from £0.20 – £100.

Blood Lust Symbols & Paytable

Blood Lust has 11 symbols in total, this includes 4 low paying symbols. These are represented by clubs, diamonds, spades and hearts. There are also 4 premium symbols, these are represented by green, blue, red and Dracula symbols. In addition to these regular symbols is a wild symbol, respin symbol and scatter symbol. The highest paying symbol is Dracula / wild, both pay 4x for 5 across a pay line. The wild symbol substitutes for any symbol except the respin and scatter. The respin symbol only appears on reel 5.

Blood Lust Features

Landing a respin symbol on reel 5 will trigger the ‘Boosted Respins’ feature. A random symbol in view is selected and all of that symbol and scatters on the reel set become sticky for one awarded re-spin.

Central to Blood Lust is the ‘Bonus Game‘. This is triggered when you land 3 scatter symbols during one spin. The number of spaces within the rectangular area that surrounds all scatter symbols will count up to your number of free spins. During spins all vampire symbols that land is counted. When a vampire meter is full that symbol is removed from the reel set and replaced with Dracula for the remaining spins. One a meter is filled one free spin is awarded.

Conclusion

Overall, I think this game is very disappointing from ELK Studios. The visuals are very basic and do not look good. Features work well and have simple mechanics to help enhance the variance on offer. Be sure to try the game for yourself on release and check out our exclusive casino offers.
