Dragon Shard Slot Review – StormCraft Studios
Stormcraft Studios has released a new slot after some success with ‘Agent Jane Blonde Returns‘ which was in collaboration with ‘Microgaming.’ The small studio is very talented and deserves more attention in the casino industry. The studios first ever slot release was last year in June when they released ‘Fortunium,’ again in collaboration with Microgaming as this studio is the companies independent studio. Now Stormcrafts new game release is titled ‘Dragon Shard‘ and is already available across casinos now.
This slot has a dragon/fantasy theme which is seen in the artwork and game title. In the background, you can see forestry and some stone structures. The slot itself has a detailed gold border. This slot has good visuals and intricate artwork.
The setup is 5 reels by 5 rows; this includes 40 set pay lines. This setup is the same from previously released slot ‘Fortunium’ which like previously mentioned Stormcrafts first slot release. This slot is low variance due to the max win being capped at 800x ( up to £160,000.00), you can bet from £0.25-£200. Pays are both ways.
Dragon Shard Slot Review Paytable & Symbols
This slot has 12 symbols in total; this includes four low paying symbols. These are represented by hearts, diamonds, clubs, and spades. These symbols have a basic design with a vibrant colour for each. There is also five premium symbols; these are represented gems, blue dragons, red dragons, king symbol, and queen symbol. These two character symbols appear stacked five high and other symbols appear double stacked. There is also a dragon shard logo wild, and dragon eye scatter symbol. The last symbol is a super stacked mystery symbol.
Dragon Shard Slot Review Features
One small feature in this slot is the ‘Mystery Symbol Win Booster,’ you have the option to activate a win booster. This will double your bet size but not change symbol pays, but in return, mystery symbols will only reveal wilds or high symbols. If this is not activated, mystery symbols will reveal wilds or low and high symbols.
Central to Dragon Shard is the ‘Free Spins’; this is activated when 3 or more scatters land on any reels. This will award you 10 free spins and mystery reels on reels 2,3 or 4. 3 Scatters Awards 1 Mystery Reel,4 Scatters Awards 2 Mystery Reels, And 5 Scatters Award 3 Mystery Reels. These mystery reels will be placed on a different reel on each spin randomly. During free spins, each scatter awards 1 extra spin.
Overall, I am disappointed with this game. To me, this is a reskin of ‘Fortunium‘ as the features are so similar, and both have the booster. The variance is low due to the max win capped at 800x, and overall there are improvements which could have been made. I hope Stormcraft Studios learn from this release and have new fantastic games coming. Therefore, this release is not going to be one on my playlist for sure.
