Finance Director Steals £1 Million From His Employer To Fuel Online Gambling Addiction

The Finance Director once had a normal lifestyle. Now facing up to 5 years in prison after pleading guilty to stealing money from his employer to fuel his gambling addiction. But it has been said the British casinos never questioned his online activity on the sites. He would spend up to £50,000 a day over a course of 3 years. Even then, nothing was flagged by any of the sites which is a huge concern. Instead, the sites would offer him exclusive offers, cash bonuses and more when he would lose large sums of money.

The man said this on the subject;

“I turned to gamble because I liked the fact I could do it on my phone on my own and it was my way of shutting myself away from my everyday life and my worries,” he said.

“I didn’t tell anyone because I didn’t want to stop.”

The man has managed to pay back £100,000 since being caught and is planning to sell his house to try and repay his employer. Gambling addiction is a serious concern especially online. These sites should monitor activity on peoples account a lot better than they currently do. If you do gamble do not deposit more than you can afford and when the fun stops do not deposit again. Try to set monthly limits, sites usually have tools to set limits on your account so you cannot deposit over your set amount.  UK laws keep changing for gambling, recently 3 sites were fined due to safeguarding issues. Try to only use trustworthy sites like CasinoHeroes for example.
