Golden Glyph Slot Review – Quickspin
So we have had a release for September, announcements for game releases in October and December. Now we have Novembers game release of the month. I have reviewed each game announced for this year, including this review. September included the release of ‘Wild Tome Of The Woods‘, October gives us a Casumo exclusive titled ‘Wild Chase: Tokyo Go‘. For December a Christmas inspired release titled ‘Polar Paws‘. But what’s in store in November by Quickspin? Releasing November 12th is ‘Golden Glyph‘. Let’s learn more about this new game release.
Today we have an ancient Egypt theme, which seems to be a popular choice in the casino industry. The background is very basic, just artwork of clouds and the sun beaming. Something with more detail could make the backdrop behind the reel set look more Egyptian and visually pleasing. The reel set/ grid has a golden border. Visually the artwork is simple but that isn’t always a bad thing.
Golden Glyph has a setup of 7 reels by 7 rows, this includes cluster pays. This game is high variance due to the max win capped at 13,000x and set RTP of 96.19%. You can bet from £0.20 – £100.
Golden Glyph Slot Review Paytable & Symbols
This slot has 9 paying symbols, this includes 4 low paying symbols. These are represented by different Egyptian hieroglyphs with snake, eye, waves and cross images. There are also 3 premium symbols, these are represented by Horus, Cleopatra and Tutankhamun. There is also a golden wild and bonus scatter.
Golden Glyph Slot Review Features
In the base game, you will benefit from 5 different features, to help the grid be more volatile and more interesting to spin. The most common to activate is the ‘Power Wild‘, this will appear in an empty symbol space from a winning cluster. Only one of these will appear per spin, if it’s part of a winning cluster it will activate one power-up feature. The 4 power-up features are;
- Golden Scarab Power-Up – A golden scarab spreads 4-10 wilds randomly on the grid. This is followed by a win evaluation.
- Eye Of Horus Power-Up – The eye of Horus removes all of one low paying symbol, the symbol is randomly picked. This is followed by a spin and win evaluation. Each removed will award 1/20 of your bet.
- Blaze Of Fire Power-Up – The blaze of fire burns all normal symbols that get in the way. This is summoned in a random location on the grid and removes all normal symbols in both the row and collum. Each removed will award 1/20 of your bet.
- Free Spins Power-Up – 9 free spins are awarded and feature starts.
At the beginning of each spin, 5 power-ups are randomly determined on to the golden wheel. This wheel is located on the left side of the grid. The last power-up is always the free spins bonus power-up. The remaining four are randomly awarded from other power-ups.
Power-ups are charged up for each feature wild that is part of a win. When there is a non-winning spin, charged up power-ups will be activated in order they were charged up.
Free Spins
When the free spins feature is activated you are awarded 9 free spins. You will also be awarded an extra 3 spins every time you retrigger during spins. During the first spin, a wild symbol is placed in a random symbol position. This wild will increase by a 1x multiplier for every time it is part of a winning cluster. The wild will move to a new symbol position each spin and not be removed from the grid. The multiplier can increase up until 99x.
Conclusion
Overall, when first learning about all the features, it can be very confusing. But once you have played this game you gradually remember what each feature is and what to look out for in the gameplay. This is the first time Quickspin has created a cluster mechanic game and they have nailed it. The game plays very well, even with many features added in. These features really help the base game become volatile and thrilling to play. The 13,000x max win is very good for a Quickspin release.
