Golden Grimoire Released 21st January – NetEnt

NetEnt has announced their second slot of 2019 by releasing a promo trailer on YouTube showing off the features and slot in action. The slot is called ‘Golden Grimoire’ and is released worldwide 21st January. It looks to be fantasy themed, but from just watching the clips shown in the promo the graphics look to be very poor. The slot has five reels, four rows, and 20 fixed pay lines.  There is one base game feature which comes in the form of mystery symbols. When the red book symbol lands it will transform into a random symbol including wilds. In the promo video, the mystery symbol transformed three full reels into a symbol and then proceeded to turn the last remaining reel without the symbols to match which is very interesting.

Golden Grimoire Bonus Feature

The slot has a bonus feature which is triggered by three scatter symbols landing in the base game; this will award you eight free spins. The reels seem to have symbols stacked. In addition, for each spin a stack of the mystery symbols will appear on a different reel. This will help the chance to match symbols. Even if a full stack of symbols lands on a separate reel to mystery symbols, the mystery symbols seem to change to that symbol from what’s shown in the promo. These mystery symbols are so useful in the free spins especially if it spins to wilds, which seems to happen if there isn’t a full stack of one symbol on other reels.

Golden Grimoire Overview

The slot has some exciting features and does have some potential. NetEnt has had great success with their recent release ‘Vikings’ which has some insane potential, especially in the bonus feature. But Golden Grimoire seems to be medium volatility with one base game feature and a free spin feature.
