Gonzo’s Quest Megaways Slot Review – Red Tiger Gaming

Red Tiger Gaming has been announcing more and more for us all to look forward to. However, I feel it has been a while since a release by the studio has really excited me. In the past, there have been some fantastic releases, which are still successful today. I did recently review ‘Bounty Raid‘, which has some great visuals but lacks within gameplay. Next from the studio is something which suprised me and now exciting. Next from Red Tiger Gaming is ‘Gonzo’s Quest Megaways‘, set to release July 23rd across all sites.

NetEnt acquired Red Tiger Gaming in 2019, the studio’s first collaboration was ‘Piggy Riches Megaways‘ back in January. Now NetEnt is putting the studio to work, using their own successful concepts. Since Red Tiger Gaming has the rights to use Megaways, it is a fantastic pair up. The original Gonzo’s Quest was released 11th November 2013 by NetEnt. The slot is one of their best to date and still one of the most played in the industry. Red Tiger Gaming has kept this new sequel within its roots. Visuals have big similarities, with just a new modern refresh to bring everything back to life. Visuals are well made with such beautiful details. A big well done to the studio on these amazing visuals.

This slot has a setup of 6 reels by 2-7 rows, this includes up to 117,649 Megaways. Gonzo’s Quest Megaways is a high variance game with a set RTP of 96% and max win capped at 21,000x. You can bet from £0.10 – £4.

Gonzo’s Quest Megaways Symbols & Pay Table

There are 11 symbols in total, this includes 4 low paying symbols. These are represented by grey, red, brown and green masks with a plain background. There are also 5 premium symbols, these are represented by different coloured more detailed masks. In addition to these regular symbols is a golden scatter and wild. The highest paying symbol is the grey & gold detailed mask premium, which pays 15x for 6 across all reels. Wilds substitute for all symbols including the scatter. Up to 2 wilds can land during one spin, one for the first 3 reels and one for the last 3 reels. Wilds are not removed when part of wins. Symbols part of wins will be removed to make way for new symbols to fall in place.

Gonzo’s Quest Megaways Features

One randomly triggered feature to look out for is ‘Earthquake‘, which will destroy all low-paying symbols and only allowing premium symbols to fall in place.

Another feature is ‘Avalanche Multipliers’, in the base game the initial multiplier is x1, then x2, then x3 and max x5. Increasing up for each consecutive cascade during one spin. Multipliers are bigger in the bonus feature.

Central to Gonzo’s Quest Megaways is ‘Free Fall‘, triggered by landing 3 or more scatters during one spin. Or by landing a line up of 3 or more scatters and wilds. This will award 9 Free Spins, each additional scatter will award 3 extra spins on the initial trigger. During spins the ‘Avalanche Multipliers’ are active, starting at x3, then x6, then x9 and a max of 15x. Just like in the base game the multiplier increases for each consecutive cascade during one spin.

Conclusion

Overall, I think this is such a well made slot sequel by the studio. I really enjoyed playing, after so much love and playtime on the original. The game is kept within the original roots, with a new modern makeover and improved statistics. Be sure to try the game for yourself on release and check out our exclusive casino offers.
