Happy Hooves Slot Review – Pragmatic Play

It has been a couple of days since my last Pragmatic Play slot review, the most recent was for the game titled ‘October Fortunes‘, which has a max win capped at 4,500x and a Free Spins feature with money symbols. Today we are learning all about ‘Happy Hooves’, which is set to release on 8th September across all sites!

We have another Equine-inspired slot by the studio, with the game background set inside a wooden stable and mountains of hay to be seen. Symbols are represented by different horse breeds and the typical J to A for low paying symbols. Symbols are nothing special with some pops of colours and detail.

Happy Hooves has a setup of 5 reels by 4 rows; this includes 40 set pay lines. This slot is high variance with a set RTP of 96.49% and a max win capped at 5,000x. You can bet from £0.40 to £100.

There are 12 symbols in total; this includes 4 low-paying symbols. These are represented by J, Q, K and A. There are also 4 premium symbols; these are represented by blue, purple, green and red backgrounds with different horse breeds. In addition to these regular symbols is a red, green, purple and blue wild symbols. Plus a horseshoe scatter, mystery symbol, golden symbol and a nudge-up symbol. The highest paying symbol is the red horse premium, which pays 4.5x for 5 across a pay line. Scatters appear on reels 1, 3 and 5.

Happy Hooves Features

Whenever the Mystery Symbols lands, the ‘Powernudge Feature‘ is triggered. In the base game mystery symbols reveal one of the coloured wilds or a golden symbol.

Whenever the Golden Symbol is revealed, all positions with Mystery Symbols respin to reveal a random money value expressed as a multiplier of total bet or a scatter symbol. The total of all Money Values are revealed and paid; if enough scatters land to trigger the feature, the feature will start at the end of all nudges. As long as Mystery Symbols are on the reel set, all reels with Mystery Symbols automatically nudge down one spot to reveal another symbol from the top and the other reels respin. After that, the game pays again for all winning combinations on the reel set, and mystery symbols reveal a new symbol at random. The nudge feature ends only when there are no mystery symbols on the screen.

Landing 3 or more scatter symbols during a base game spin will trigger the Powdernudge Respin Feature. When this begins, an automatic spin is done with at least 8 Mystery Symbols, split between two random reels. Then the game will nudge and respin the same way as the base game. The round ends when there are no more Mystery Symbols on the reel set, after nudges and respins triggered by the initial spin.

During the round, the Mystery Symbols can reveal a new symbol from respins of the golden one, the Nudge Up symbol. If this symbol hits, the Subsequent Nudge of the reels with Mystery Symbols will be up instead of down. If there is more than one Nudge Up symbol on the reel set revealed at the same time, the subsequent nudge will move the reels a number of positions up, which is equal to the number of Nudge Up symbols hit. During the round, a multiplier is applied to all respins, starting at 1x and increasing by 1x for every subsequent nudge and respin. This bonus feature can be purchased for 100x your chosen stake.

Conclusion

Overall, I think this slot is a unique release by the studio in terms of mechanics and a fun one to try out. With a max win capped at 5,000x and a Free Spins feature with nudges & mystery symbols. Be sure to try out the game for yourself on release and check out our exclusive casino offers.
