Hellcatraz is actually based on the Alcatraz prison which is located in the middle of San Francisco Bay. This prison is well known and an interesting choice for a slot theme. Even with the slot theme based around a prison full of criminals, the visuals have a retro design. The retro design does remind me of ‘Flame Busters’ by Thunderkick, just based on the visual aspect. Hellcatraz Features
There are 3 main features within this game, the first is ‘Mystery Reveal Feature‘. During every spin, there are mystery symbols present. Each symbol has a counter which is reduced by one each cascade. When the counter reaches 0, the reveal is activated and all affected mystery reveal symbols turn into the same symbol. However, there are two modes to choose from when you first load the game. Lockdown Mode and Mixed Mode, all mystery reveal symbols will have the same values. But in Mixed mode, there will be two independent counter values.
The second main feature is the ‘Super Free Spins‘ feature. This feature is triggered once you have collected 2000 keys. Key symbols appear randomly on top of normal symbols and each key awards 1-10 keys towards the count. During each spin, mystery symbols are present and always reveal without any cascades. You can trigger an additional spin when revealing a golden mystery symbol. When the symbol is present two cascades are required to reveal additional spins. The super free spins are played at an average bet from when the keys were collected.
