In the base game, you will benefit from 2 different features. “Wild Ships” by collecting treasure map symbols you will progress on the map covering the 6th reel. Once your ship gradually reaches the red X the 6th reel will be unlocked. Your progress is stuck with your stakes, so when you grind the map entirely on a £1 stake, you can also grind for the map symbols on other stakes. Once you have completed this map, all future spins on the stake will benefit from an additional reel and fully stacked Wilds 2x-5x.
There is also an additional feature with the Monkey Wild, when this wild lands the money will steal all low paying symbols. These symbols will then be replaced with all high paying symbols which can result in some nice wins.

To activate free spins you need 3 scatter symbols to land on reels, this will award 10 free spins. During these spins you need to land the ghost captain who is carrying keys when he falls you are granted 1 key per captain symbol. You need these keys to unlock chests, 3 keys for the smallest chest, 3 more for a medium chest and then 3 more for the most massive chest. When you open these chests you are awarded extra spins and low paying symbols turning wild. You need these keys early on so you can get additional spins and unlock the Wild symbols for some nice wins.

Overall, this slot is boring with the saturated theme but does have some nice base game features which you can benefit from. It is great that when you finish the treasure map it will stay unlocked for all future spins on the stake. This is something new from the provider and hope I see it more in upcoming releases similarly. The bonus can be boring if you don’t manage to get any keys so you just need to hope the captain stops by with keys.
