Raging Rex Slot Review – Play’n Go

The year 2019 seemed like Play’n Go’s biggest success thanks to so many popular titles being released and some still being played now. Some of these successful titles are starting to fade thanks to new slots being released every month by the provider. Today we are learning all about the slot release ‘Raging Rex‘, originally released 10th January 2019.

Raging Rex is set in a mysterious wild jungle, with tall trees and a foggy atmosphere. With other details such as animations of bugs flying around and a waterfall flowing in the background. The dinosaur theme is an interesting choice by the studio and not so saturated in the casino industry. The background uses dull colours and the various symbol designs show us the pop of colour needed for the visual aspect.

This slot has a setup of 6 reels by 4 rows, this includes 4,096 set pay lines. Raging Rex is a medium variance game with a set RTP of 96.34% and max win capped at 5,000x. You can bet from £0.20 – £100.

Raging Rex Symbols & Pay Table

There are 12 symbols in total, this includes 6 low paying symbols. These are represented by mosquito, spider, beetle, scorpion, dragonfly, and lizard fossils. There are also 4 premium symbols which are represented by 4 different well-known dinosaur species. In additon to these regular symbols is a meteor scatter and rex wild. The highest paying symbol is the purple background dinosaur premium, which pays 7.5x for 6 across a pay line. Wilds substitute for all symbols except scatters.

Raging Rex Features

There is one base game feature which is called ‘Rampage Feature,’ this feature is activated if a full stack of T-Rex wilds land on a reel except reel 1. These wilds will then be sticky and move one reel to the left after each spin. This feature cannot be retriggered. It will give five respins if the wilds land on reel 6. This feature can also appear in the free spins feature.

To activate free spins you need to land 3 or more meteorite symbols on any reels, 3 scatters awards 8 free spins, 4 scatters awards 15 free spins, 5 scatters awards 20 free spins and 6 scatters award 30 free spins. You are given 5x when the bonus activates. There can also be retriggered by landing 3 or more scatters, 3 scatters awards 5 extra spins, 4 scatters awards 8 additional spins, 5 scatters awards 15 extra spins and 6 scatters awards 20 extra spins.

You pick from 2 different features which will feature during free spins. The first is ‘Wild Hunt,’ extra rex wilds can land with multipliers and combine up to x243. The second is called ‘Primal Rage,’ the full stack walking wild will always be on reels and will move left and right. Both bonus features are very volatile, but I prefer the Wild Hunt feature due to some of the multipliers having bigger multipliers than 1x.

Conclusion

Overall, the base game is unpredictable with the walking wild feature and the stacked wilds. The bonus feature has a pick, but the wild hunt feature seems to pay more as multipliers can add up. This slot is medium variance with a max win of 5,000x. Be sure to try out this slot for yourself if you haven’t already. Also, be sure to check out our exclusive casino offers.
