Release The Kraken Slot Review – Pragmatic Play

Pragmatic Play has a very busy 2020 planned. The provider has 4 games releases per month planned, with games up until mid-March confirmed already. 48 games for the year if 4 game releases a month is correct for the whole year. I recently reviewed ‘Money Mouse‘, which is another Asian inspired game with big similarities to Wolf Gold. Today I am reviewing the 4th game release for January. This new game is titled ‘Release The Kraken‘, set to release 30th January across all sites.

Release The Kraken is set deep under the sea, with a sunken ship and colourful coral surrounding. The background is well designed and has lovely detail along with vibrant colours. The reel set has a wooden border, with the sunken ship seen behind reels. Overall I think the visuals reflect the theme well and I love the artwork.

This game has a setup of 5 reels by 4 rows, this includes 20 – 40 set pay lines. Release The Kraken is a high variance game due to the max win capped at 10,000x and set RTP around 96%. You can bet from £0.20 – £100.

Release The Kraken Slot Review Symbols & Paytable

Release The Kraken has 13 symbols in total, this includes 4 low paying symbols. These are represented by J, Q, K, and A. There are also 5 premium symbols, these are represented by green fish, bluefish, turtles, sharks and a release the Kraken premium. In addition to these paying symbols is a bubble wild, ship scatters,wheel scatters and treasure chest scatter. The highest paying symbol is the release the Kraken premium, this symbol pays 25x for 5 across a pay line.

Release The Kraken Features

During the base game on any random spin, a choice between 3 tentacles will be displayed. Select 1 of these to trigger 1 of 3 different wild mini-features;

Kraken Lockin Wilds – Choose between 1 of 3 chests to award either more wilds, continue spinning, all wins x2 or collect.

Colossal Kraken Wilds – After reels stop, a randomly placed 3×4 wild symbol is guaranteed to land on the reels.

Infectious Kraken Wilds – After reels stop, at least one wild is guaranteed to land in view. This symbol will infect adjacent ones turning them into wilds.

There are two main bonus features that can be triggered. The first is ‘Sunken Treasure Bonus‘. This is triggered when a boat scatter lands on reel 1 and 5 with a chest scatter on reel 5. You will then need to pick 1 of the 3 chests to award a random money value. Consecutive picks are awarded as long as money is still being picked. Continue until you pick a collect to end the feature.

The second feature is ‘Roaming Kraken Free Spins‘. This is triggered when you land a ship scatter on reels 1 and 3 along with a wheel scatter on reel 5. Before this feature begins you will need to pick chests to reveal prizes until you find a collect. Chests can contain extra spins of 1-3. After collect is hit the free spins begin with the number of spins you have won. Spins are played on 40 pay lines compared to 20 in the base game. There is a multiplier of 1x which will increase by 1x for each wild symbol that hits during spins. All wild symbols that do hit will remain and change position on each spin.

Conclusion

Overall, I think this game is very fun to play thanks to the variation of features. The base game is still of potential thanks to the 3 possible wild mini features. Then the 2 bonus features, roaming Kraken free spins is the best feature and has great potential with the stuck wilds and growing multiplier.
