Sabaton Slot Review – Play’n Go

After revealing Starburst 2.0 aka ‘Crystal Sun‘ and their first ever grid slot ‘Mahjong88‘. I have been wondering what’s next from Play’n go, now they have in fact revealed something that shocked me for their next release. They have collaborated with ‘Sabaton’, a well know Swedish metal band which debuted in 1999.

Sabaton Base Game

The band has 5 members currently, which all appear in the slot as premium symbols. This slot simple visuals but they reflect the band well, with massive guns behind the reel set and reels being on a basic rusty metal background. The symbols do have good detailing though. The soundtrack is very intense and music from the band. You will hear many different parts of their sounds in features especially.

This slot has a setup of the classic 5 reels by 3 rows, this includes 10 fixed pay lines. The set RTP is 95.50%, this slot has medium-high volatility due to the max win being capped at 5,000x. You can bet from £0.10- £100.

Sabaton Slot Review Paytable & Symbols

Sabaton Premium Symbols

This slot has 10 symbols in total, this includes 4 low paying symbols. These are represented by Grenades, Swords, helmets/bullets and gladiator helmets. There are also 4 high paying symbols, these are represented by 5 of the band members. Each has its own vibrant colour and have short animations which can play. These character symbols can appear on reels as mega symbols during reel features.  There is also a wild symbol for the 5th band member and a scatter symbols with a golden S. The highest paying symbol is the wild, this will award 100x for 5 across a pay line.

Sabaton Slot Review Features

Sabaton Chained Reels

This slot is jam-packed with many different features that can trigger. The first is called ‘Chained Reels‘, this feature is randomly activated during the base game. Between 2-3 adjacent reels are chosen at random and will synchronise to display the same symbols. This is well known in Queen Of Riches by Big Time Gaming for reference. This feature is triggered very frequently during spins.

The second feature is called ‘Last Stand‘, this feature is randomly activated and can trigger in both base and bonus feature. 1-2 reels are randomly chosen to become fully wild.

The third feature is called ‘Metal Stacks‘ And Mystery Symbols’, a random symbol is selected to be stacked on each spin. This symbol will also replace the scatter symbol if 3-8 scatter symbols appear on the screen. During the bonus feature, one symbol is selected at the start of the spins and transformed into metal stacks and mystery symbols for these free spins.

To activate the free spins feature you need to land 9 or more scatters, this is possible when 3 reels are linked. This will award 9 free spins, during spins the Last Stand feature, Metal Stacks and mega symbols are all active. The free spins feature is full of volatility with all different features active during each spin.

Conclusion

Overall, this slot was very fun to test out. The variation of features makes the slot very unique and very fun to play. The features can seem overwhelming at first when you do not know what some may do or trigger. But reading the slot information is very useful when you play new slots. The slot has decent visuals and good volatility with a max win of 5,000x.
