Halloween has already passed and it is time for studios to reveal their festive game releases for 2021. There are 8 symbols in total, this includes 4 low-paying symbols. These are represented by blue diamond, green clubs, red hearts, and orange spades baubles. There are also 3 premium symbols, these are represented by wooden planes, wooden trains, and teddy bears. In addition to these regular symbols is Santa wild. The highest paying symbol is the teddy bear premium, which pays £0.50 – £500 for clusters of 5 – 25. The wild substitutes for all symbols and only appear as part of Wild Santa and Lucky Santa.
Santa’s Wonderland Features
There is a ‘Tumble Feature’ always active during spins. Symbols part of winning combinations are removed from the reel set. The remaining symbols will fall to the bottom of the reel set and new symbols will fall from above. Tumbling continues until no more wins occur as a result of a tumble.
During base game spins on every spin, there are 5 special coloured markings. One of each type appears behind symbols in random positions. When a win occurs on top of one of these marked spots a special feature will be triggered, dependent on the colour of the marked spot. The possible features are;
Blue Mark (Refresh) – The reel set is cleared of all symbols except wilds which remain in place. New symbols will then fall from above.
Purple Mark (Wild Santa) – All instances of one random symbol present on the reel set are transformed into wilds.
Yellow Mark (Blocks) – Random blocks of 2×2 of the same symbol are added in random positions on the reel set.
Red Mark (Supersize) – A random block of 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 of the same symbol is added to a random reel set position.
Green Mark (Lucky Santa) – 5 to 15 wilds are added to random reel set positions.
On every spin, the number of winning symbols removed from the reel set is counted and the ‘Midnight Riches’ meter fills. When this meter hits a certain number of symbols the ‘Midnight Riches’ feature is triggered. The meter resets back to 0 when no more winning symbols are removed. Collecting 140 from a base game spin with tumbles and spin features will trigger this feature. This feature starts at Level 1, during this feature on every new level all spin modifiers are guaranteed to be played once per level and all wins have a win multiplier starting at 3x. Collecting winning symbols during each level will help you advance. This feature ends when not enough winning symbols have been collected to advance to the next level or all spin features from level 5 have been played. The ‘Midnight Riches Feature’ can be purchased in the base game for the price of 100x your chosen stake.
Level 2 – Collect 116 winning symbols. Level 2 plays with a 6x win multiplier.
Level 3 – Collect 120 winning symbols. Level 3 plays with a 9x win multiplier.
Level 4 – Collect 124 winning symbols. Level 4 plays with a 12x win multiplier.
Level 5 – Collect 132 winning symbols. Level 5 plays with a 15x win multiplier.
Conclusion
Overall, I think this slot is a fun festive release to end the year and filled with a big range of different mechanics.
