We are back again in 2018 to learn about underrated and forgotten studio slot releases. Today it is another Play’n Go game release, which was one of my favorite slots when released. I recently reviewed ‘Banana Rock’, which showed a unique theme and a bright visual style. Today we are learning all about Sizzling Spins, originally released 24th July 2018.
This slot has a BBQ theme, with various well-known foods appearing as reel symbols and the reel background as a grill on a lawn. The slot background could have shown more detail and artwork. Instead, the detail can be seen within the reel set. which also has animations of the coal under the grill and title logo. I personally love the art style chosen by the studio and the bright vibrant colours to catch your eye.

There are 11 symbols in total, this includes 5 low paying symbols. These are represented by mushrooms, cucumber slices, tomatoes, onions, and corns. There are also 4 premium symbols, these are represented by prawns, chicken wings, sausages, and ribs. In addition to these regular symbols is a foil wild and chili scatter. Wilds substitute for all symbols except scatters and only reveal if they land on a hot reel. The highest paying symbol is the ribs premium, which pays 16x for 5 across a pay line.
Sizzling Spins Features
On each spin in the base game either reels 1,3 or 5 will turn into a hot reel. If a foil blocker lands on a hot reel it will turn into a wild. When it lands this will give a respin and the reel with the wild will be held. Another reel will turn into a hot reel but after achieving a respin any reel can turn hot not just 1,3 or 5 this is just for the first initial start.
If you land a foil blocker on the other hot reel you will get another respin. The respins will continue until 5 reels are hot or a wild doesn’t land. Any wilds that land on the 4th respin will become a 2x multiplier.
To unlock the free spins feature you need to land 3 chili scatters in the base game. Players will get to choose out of the 3 to get a number of free spins. The three options are always 8,10 or 12 free spins. So at least you are always guaranteed 8. In the free spins. The reels expand for the spins and turn into 5 by 4 rows which increases the ways very nicely. Hot reels are in the free spins but have a different use.
If you land a foil blocker on any reel it will still be wild even when it’s not on a hot reel. But if you do land it on a hot reel it will give you a respin, which can be useful to land more wins. While in the spins the chili symbol will appear. You collect these during the spins to increase your wins multiplier. The more you collect the bigger the multiplier. The biggest multiplier is capped at 5x though.

9 chillis collected = 5x
Conclusion
