The Expendables Megaways Slot Review – Stakelogic

I review different slots every day from the biggest variety of studios in the casino industry, even after 2 years I still miss out on great providers. The industry is changing and growing rapidly every year now. With new studios joining and already established studios progressing. One studio I have missed out on is ‘Stakelogic‘, based in Malta and The Netherlands. The studio has been established for years now, with a long list of released games. Some stand out more than others and some are OG classics in the casino community. But today I am reviewing their latest creation, titled ‘The Expendables Megaways available to play now across all sites.

Stakelogic managed to get the infamous Megaways license from Big Time Gaming, which has been used within multiple games already and now the latest The Expendables Megaways. This slot is based on The Expendables film series which started in 2010 with the first movie and followed by 2 more The Expendables movies in 2012 and 2014. These films feature some of the best actors in the business such as Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham. Each movie is an Action/adventure and all very successful around the world. If you haven’t watched the movies, I highly recommend you do. Visually this game really disappoints and lets down the iconic films. The background is dull with nothing to really see within the detail and no movie references to match the theme. The only part of the movies is within the symbols, where characters appear as premium symbols. Overall, the visuals could have been so much better and represented the theme more.

This game has a setup of 6 reels by 2-7 rows, this includes up to 117,649 Megaways. The Expendables Megaways is a high variance slot with a set RTP of 96.02% and max win capped at 20,000x. You can bet from £0.20 – £20.

The Expendables Megaways Paytable & Symbols

There are 13 symbols in total, this includes 5 low paying symbols. These are represented by 10, J, Q, K and A. There are also 5 premium symbols, these are represented by film characters Hale Caesar, Gunnar Jensen, Yin Yang, Lee Christmas and Barney Ross. The highest paying symbol is Barney Ross, which pays 12.5x for 6 across all reels. In addition to these regular symbols is a wild symbol, skull scatter and bullet scatter. Wild symbols substitute for all symbols except both scatters.

The Expendables Megaways Features

There are two main features within this slot, the first is ‘Bullet Bonus‘. Bullet Scatters are saved and added to a counter when they land on the reel set. When 5 have been collected this bonus feature will be triggered. 5 bullet scatters will appear on the reel set, one symbol on reels 2, 3, 4 and 5 or 6. Turning existing symbols into wilds, the counter will reset after this feature.

The second feature is the ‘Free Spins’ feature, triggered by landing 4 or more scatters during one spin. 4 Scatters Award = 12 Free Spins, 5 Scatters Award = 16 Free Spins, 6 Scatters Awards = 20 Free Spins and 7 Scatters Award = 24 Free Spins. During spins, low paying symbols may progressively (in order of value) be removed from the reel set for the remaining spins. After a win with a low paying symbol, all of those types of symbols are removed from reels. A multiplier is also active during spins, increasing by 1x for each symbol win unlimited. Landing 3 or more scatter symbols during spins will award additional spins. 3 Scatters Award = 4 Extra Spins and 4 Scatters Award = 8 Extra Spins.

You can also double your bet by activating ‘Super Stake’, this gives extra chances of hitting valuable winning combinations. One of the following features is randomly picked by the game when activated;

  • 175 wild symbols are added to the base game.
  • All low symbols are removed from the base reels

Conclusion

Overall, I think this game is great thanks to the high volatility and feature on offer. However, the visuals really let down the chosen theme and do not show off the iconic film series at all. I hope next time the visuals are improved! Be sure to try the game out for yourself and check out our exclusive casino offers.
