Betfred refuse to pay out 1.7 million jackpot due to ‘Software Glitch’
The UK based casino establishment has been under fire recently due to them not paying a jackpot won by a dad of two from Lincolnshire Andrew Green. He recently celebrated his big win on the game ‘Dettori’s Magic Seven‘ which is an online blackjack game, by spending £2500 in the local pub. But when he went to claim his winnings, he was told by Betfred themselves a ‘software malfunction‘ had occurred so his win is not legitimate so he will not be receiving any winnings, but the money was credited to his balance which can be seen below in his screen grab.
Andrew commented;
‘I play all the time, and I know when it comes up there it is meant to go straight into your balance.
“I got two mushrooms and three clovers, and whenever you get three clovers, you are credited with the jackpot.”
Betfred has offered Andrew a settlement of £60,000 which required a nondisclosure agreement, but he has declined this settlement and is now fighting against them in the high court. I hope he gets a reasonable settlement as he has done nothing wrong, he just played the online game, it is down to Betfred as it is their software and the fact an agreement was offered, it shows they know they are at fault.
Let us know your thoughts below. I suggest you rather play one of my suggested casinos, which are safe and sound and tested. I’d also love to hear your options about this on my Twitch stream, which you can find here.
