Break Bones Slot Review – Hacksaw Gaming
It is that time again to play catch-up with studios, especially since Christmas is getting closer and closer. Soon we will be in a brand new year, with another 365 days full of exciting releases and potential within the casino industry. Today’s catch-up is for studio Hacksaw Gaming, best known for its impressive portfolio of slots and scratch cards. The most recent review I did for this studio is for the game titled ‘Alpha Eagle‘ around two months ago now. Which has a max win capped at 10,000x and 2 main bonus features. Today we are learning all about ‘Break Bones’, which is available to play now!
Hacksaw Gaming loves to experiment with its visual aspects and theme choices. For Break Bones, we have a graffiti style, which includes a grey wall for the game background, which has the game name spray painted in bold, bright letters. The reel set includes the game title again in the top left corner in the same style. The reel border is a dull grey with some excess paint on the sides. Low-paying symbols stick with this dull colour scheme, with white colour and black backgrounds all spray painted.
Premium symbols stand out with a bright design and bold colours used. Each premium is a detailed skull with a different spray paint design painted on it. When low-paying symbols are part of a win, they are highlighted with a simple animation. Premium symbols each have a unique detailed animation which makes them stand out. This is the same case with all special symbols which appear on the reel set. This game is definitely one which stands out, with a unique visual design and simplistic gameplay which is entertaining.
Break Bones has a setup of 3 reels by 3 rows; this includes 17 set pay lines. This slot is medium variance with a set RTP of 96.22% and a max win capped at 3,333x. You can bet from £0.10 to £100.
Break Bones Symbols & Pay Table
There are 11 symbols in total; this includes 4 low-paying symbols. These are represented by J, Q, K and A. There are also 4 premium symbols, which are represented by Red, Cyan, Green and Dark Blue skulls with shapes over them. In addition to these regular symbols is a Wild symbol, Skeleton Hand symbol and Bones Game scatter. The highest paying symbol is the Wild symbol, which pays 4x for 3 across a pay line.
Break Bones Mechanics & Features
Each Wild has a chance to have a multiplier with a value of 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x or 100x. When one or more Wilds land is included in the same winning pay line, the multiplier values are added together. Added to a Global Multiplier displayed above the reel set, used for all wins on the current spin.
EchoSpins are triggered when a Skeleton Hand scatter lands with at least one winning pay line.
Awarding 1 to 5 EchoSpins, during spins, each spin is a copy of the triggering spin. All Wild Multipliers on the reels during EchoSpins have been added again to the Global Multiplier on every spin. This Multiplier is reset after these spins end.
Landing 3 Bones Game Scatters will award 10 Free Spins. During these spins, there is a better chance of landing Skeleton Hand scatters, also a higher chance of more EchoSpins compared to the base game, up to 5 spins. This feature can be purchased for 80x your chosen stake.
Conclusion
Overall, I think this slot has an interesting visual design, with some bright neon colours and dullness used for the art work. The art work is very detailed with a graffiti style used, animations match this with a unique animation for each premium and a simpler animation for all low paying symbols. Gameplay is smooth and pop ups are not overwhelming as you spin. There isn’t a loud soundtrack within this slot, instead the calm sounds of the reel spinning and symbol wins occurring. I do like Hacksaw Gaming’s unique approach for the visuals of this game and do think it stands out. Now onto the features and mechanics;
All Wilds have a multiplier value between 2x to 100x, these multipliers are added together and added to a Global Multiplier which can be used for the current spin. We the appearance of Echo Spins again, first seen in the release of ‘Itero‘. Landing a Skeleton Hand will award 1 to 5 EchoSpins, each spin a copy of the triggering spin and all multipliers are added to the Global Multiplier. The main attraction is the Free Spins, which have a higher chance of triggering EchoSpins and can be purchased for 80x.
