What Happened

Jake Stevens, 26 was told he had won £25,000 by guessing the number of goals scored for 6 different football games. However, after celebrating with family he was unfortunately informed there was a computer error. This resulted in his winnings shrinking down to £2,600. The bet was part of a football prediction competition, the cash pot of £50,000 is shared with everyone who correctly predicts goals for 6 football games. So instead of the prize being split with two winners, it was revealed the prize is shared with 19 different winners. Some of the other 19 winners were also informed their cash prize was, in fact, bigger too.  William Hill commented ‘

‘There were a number of winners this weekend, and unfortunately, some of these customers were informed of an incorrect prize due to a technical issue. ‘We recognize this experience has been unsatisfactory and we apologize to those customers. ‘We are in the processes of contacting all the customers who we are aware have been directly affected by the problem.’

It seems William Hill will not pay out any more money to these winners. It is a shame these ‘Technical Errors’, happen. But they seem to happen more and more frequently, which results in people losing out on winnings. Let’s hope this does not happen again. Be sure to check out our exclusive casino offers.
