Good Feathers Slot Review – Blueprint

BluePrint are working on a lot of new slots for 2019. We recently reviewed the Temple Of Treasure Megaways which is a great volatile slot but has no unique features. There were sneak peeks of their new release late last year, but I have finally been able to try the slot out for myself and am very surprised. Their next version is called ‘Good Feathers‘ and is being released worldwide on all sites on February 19th. Let’s take a deeper dive in our Good Feathers slot review.

The slot has a unique theme of Mobsters but represented by birds instead. The artwork is cartoonish but has some good detail; the slot has some great sound effects and voices for the birds when they pop up for features to match the theme well. The background has many tall buildings and some trees which is basic, but the focus on the screen is the slot and the badges on the left.

It has a setup of 5 reels by three rows which includes 20 pay lines and cascading symbols. This feature is seen on a lot of Big Time Gaming releases when symbols are part of a winning payline they will be destroyed, and new symbols will fall into their place on the reels; this can occur many times until no more wins occur. This slot is action-packed with many random base game features and different bonus features which we will go into more detail on. The max win is a staggering 10,000x/£250,000 and the RTP ranges from 92.45% – 96.32%.

Good Feathers Slot Review Base Game Features

In the base game, you will benefit from 3 different features, randomly after a spin a bird will pop up at the bottom of the slot and stand up if you are given a chance at a feature. You will need to pick 1 of 3 eggs that appear on the slot. Just like the feature on previous release ‘Goonies’ but with three keys instead. You can choose 1 of 3 different features which include;

Stork Wilds – 1 or more fully stacked wild will appear on reels, lights at the top of each reel will flick on and off to tease which reels will turn wild.
FlyBy Wilds – A bird will appear and fly across the reel while shooting symbols. Any symbols shot will turn wild.
Egg Bomb – A bomb will explode destroying all symbols on the reels and a new set of symbols will drop.

Good Feathers Slot Review Symbols & Paytable

The slot has nine symbols in total which includes, 4 low paying symbols represented by knives, guns and two mugshot pictures. All these flat paying symbols are in black and white. There are also 4 high paying symbols represented by different bird characters; the highest paying is the bird wearing a suit with a cigar in his beak and paying 25x for 5 across a pay line. There is also a wild symbol which usually appears on reels and in some features. There is no scatter symbol in this slot as it is not needed to trigger the free spins feature.

Good Feathers Slot Review Bonus Features

To activate the bonus feature you need four wins in a row during one spin, your progress of wins can be shown on the left of the slot on the sheriff badges up to the FBI badge which lights up for each win. You are asked to pick 1 of 5 location pictures on the police board; this will reveal 1 of 5 different features, if you do not choose the top feature you can gamble for the chance at the next feature up, but you risk losing your bonus and instead of receiving a mystery win. The features are all very different and some more volatile than others.

Good Feathers Slot Review: Bonus Collection

Prison Escape Bonus – This bonus feature is essentially a pick and click. Click the jail cells revealing birds with money values which will add up to a total, reveal a collect symbol to collect your winnings or a level up to progress. There are three different levels; money values increase up to the levels. Pick carefully!

Warehouse Bonus – Pick a suitcase to reveal a money value, you can deal or gamble your money to pick another briefcase, you have up to 5 offers but be careful when you bet as the values vary so you could lose money on the gamble.

Scarbird Free Spins – awarded five free spins with the scarbird active on every spin, the scarbird will shoot symbols when it lands, any shot will turn wild. At the end of spins pick 1 of 3 suitcases for the chance of +5 spins or a collect.

Infeathergation Free Spins – Awarded 8 free spins with wild symbols stacked, blue bird symbol will retrigger free spins, and red bird symbol will collect your winnings so pick wisely at the end of spins.

Crime Scene Free Spins – Awarded ten free spins with an increasing multiplier, this can increase up to 20x. Every win increases the multiplier and uncovers more evidence, land an FBI badge for +3 free spins.

Good Feathers Slot Review Conclusion

Overall, I had a lot of fun trying this slot out. Blueprint did an excellent job producing this new release. It has a unique theme with lots of action due to all the features in both base and bonus. The slot does remind me of past versions like The Goonies, but it plays very differently.
