Medusa Megaways Slot Review – NextGen Gaming

I have not reviewed many NextGen Gaming Slots; this is not because I do not like their slot creations. Mainly because of their releases not being very excited in the casino community. But their new version caught many peoples attention due to one factor. Their latest slot has Megaways; the casino world is full of Megaways slots now due to Big Time Gaming allowing other providers to incorporate their famous Slot Tool. This new NextGen Gaming release is titled ‘Medusa Megaways’ and is already available on most sites.

Medusa Megaways Base Game

As you can tell by the title, this slot is based around ‘Medusa.’ Medusa is from Greek Mythology, a female with venomous snakes for hair and anyone who looked into her eyes would turn to stone. There are many famous movies around Medusa, but now we have a slot. This slot has an essential still background of ancient architecture and has beautiful colouring. There are weather effects that also occur in the background. The slot has good graphics, just nothing that blows my mind.

The setup is 6 reels by 3-7 reels due to Megaways; there is also a new reel at the top of the structure between reels 2-5. This concept is seen in a lot of Big Time Gaming slots, and this new reel is very beneficial for additional symbol connections. Symbols part of wins are destroyed, and all missing will be replaced. The max ways available are 117,649, the set RTP is 96.28%, and max win is capped at 50,000x. This slot has insane volatility and fun features to benefit from. You can bet from £0.25 – £25 and buy the slots bonus feature for 100x your stake.

Medusa Megaways Slot Review Symbols & Paytable

Medusa Megaways Symbols

This slot has 13 symbols in total; this includes 5 low paying symbols. These are represented by 10, J, Q, K, and A. These symbols have a necessary stone font with different colours to represent each. There are also 5 high paying symbols represented by sandals, silver rings, gold snakes, shields and a pegasus. There is also a medusa wild symbol which substitutes for all paying symbols, soldier symbols only appearing in the free spins feature. The lastly the medusa scatter symbol.

Medusa Megaways Slot Review Features

One feature is called ‘Medusas Gaze,’ this is activated when 1 or more wilds appear on the new top reel. When activated medusa will appear and fully cover the reel below the wild in the top reel. She can also reveal more wilds when she disappears.

To activate the free spins feature you can either buy this feature for 100x your stake to automatically trigger. Or you can land 3 or more medusa scatter symbols. Each extra scatter that lands, when this bonus is triggered, will award you +5 free spins. You can also additionally retrigger this feature by landing  3 or more scatter symbols , during the free spins unlimited times.  During free spins, every win combination will increase the feature multiplier by 1x. This concept is seen in most Megaways slot releases.

The base game feature ‘Medusas Gaze’ is also active during these free spins; these wilds can be beneficial for symbol combinations. Another feature is called ‘Snake Strike,’ snake animations can trigger this feature. When a soldier symbol lands on the extra reel, the snakes will attack. The left snake can turn symbols into wilds, and the right snake can transform symbols into scatters. What’s unique about this bonus feature is you can at the end, choose to replay the bonus feature once or take your winnings. So you could replay if it’s a lousy bonus to hope for bigger winnings.

Conclusion

Overall, this slot is jam-packed with features, and I enjoyed testing it out. This slot has some insane volatility and many different features which can occur. I hope nextgen gaming continues to shock us with future releases. Be sure to try it out for yourself soon on all good sites. As always, remember to follow us on Twitch for live slots streaming action. See ya later!
