Moonshine riches netent slot review, big win or big fail?
So NetEnt hasn’t really been producing big successful slots for a while now. Every slot they have brought out this year feels like a reskin of previous slots or they have no potential or just have no good features. Jumanji did have good gameplay features and the artwork did look good but the potential for the slot just isn’t there in the base or bonus game. But the game was something different from them.
They have recently announced a new slot release but we do not have a current release date. The slot is called ‘Moonshine riches’. This slot is based around a group of mobsters which feature as the premium symbols. The art style and the music for the slot is very unique but the actual gameplay just seems so similar to many of their other slots. It just seems like a reskin of games like ‘Wild Wild West’ and ‘Hotline’. Which just makes it seem like they are just pumping out new slots without putting in as much effort as previous ones.
Let’s get into the game’s features.
Symbols
For the game’s symbols, the 3 lower symbols are a whiskey glass, Ale barrels and a bottle of whiskey. Plus, there are 5 premium symbols which are the slots characters. The highest is the mobster boss which can pay 35x if you manage to get 5 of a kind in the base game which is pretty good. The RTP is 96.6% which is average for most Netent slots so no surprise there. There is, of course, the Moonlight scatter which acts as a wild as well.
Ricochet Reward
In the base game if you manage to land 2 bonus symbols on different rows this will activate the ‘Ricochet Reward’. One of the symbols that landed will transform all other symbols in that row into a random symbol which will reward you a 5 of a kind. If you manage to get a 5 of a kind with a high symbol this could pay a decent amount to top up your balance. It’s an incentive for not landing the bonus really.
Bootleggers bounty bonus
If you get 0 wins from your free spins you get a second chance by activating the Bootleggers bounty bonus. This is basically just a simple pick and click bonus. The prizes range from 10x-75x your bet. This could top up your balance nicely if you click right after bad free spins.
Territory takeover spins
To activate free spins, you need to land a moonshine symbol on reels 1 and 5 but they must be in the same row. You will be awarded 5 free spins. But the spins will only be on a 5 row and 1 reel but you can win from both sides. After each win, the multiplier will go up by 1x. Any wilds that land will be sticky for the rest of the spins plus when you land one you get an extra spin. So, the max multiplier you can achieve is 9x which is a max win of 350x with the highest symbol. When I played the feature many times I averaged a win of 50x-80x. This bonus feature is a new concept but I don’t see the potential when its capped at 9x multiplier.
Overall, I feel like this slot is a low to medium in volatility. I like the theme and music but I do not see potential in it at all when playing it myself. The extra features seem very boring like the pick and click with little potential. The bonus feature is creative and a unique idea but it doesn’t pay out much. This slot seems like a big reskin with a unique bonus feature which is disappointing as a lot of people were hoping for something new from NetEnt.
