Pragmatic has started announcing their slots to kick off 2019, they have announced two slots so far. One called ‘Mustang Gold‘ which is released 17th January. The other one is ‘Treasure Horse‘ which is released 7th February. I have chosen to review Treasure Horse first as it is unique compared to Pragmatic’s other releases. The slot is a 3×3, but it isn’t as boring as others released in the past. 3×3 slots are normally straightforward and offer few features. Treasure Horse offers 18 paylines, an RTP of 96.52% and even free spins with extra features to spice it up. But with the 18 Paylines, comes bizarre stakes you can spin at. You can’t bet a simple £1, instead 0.90 or £1.08 and more various interesting stakes which might not bother people but I prefer betting at even stakes. Treasure Horse Slot Review Overview
The slot has a very saturated Chinese inspired theme with beautiful mountains as the background and symbols of Chinese engraved coins, bamboo, and even Chinese inspired music/ sound effects playing while you spin. We have seen this theme very often in releases, but it seems providers still like to use it even in current releases. The slots graphics are detailed especially the symbols used and the sound effects tie the whole creation together. Pragmatic Play did a good job producing this game overall.
Treasure Horse Slot Review Paytable & Symbols
The slot has three low tier symbols which are represented by three different coloured BARs. The slot also has four high paying symbols which are represented by bamboo, a fortune symbol, pouch with coins and singular coins. The game also has a wild symbol which is the highest paying out of them all and a golden horse for the scatter. The wilds pay 55.555*6 X for one on each reel. The paytable shows pays from a bet of £1.08. The paytable is displayed on the main screen on the slot so when you are spinning the paytable is always visible, which I think is very useful especially if you are new to the slot.
Treasure Horse Slot Review Bonus Feature
To activate the bonus feature you need a golden horse to land on each reel; this will give you eight free spins with a beneficial new reel set of stacked symbols. You can get +1 spin for each scatter that lands during the free spins.
During these spins an additional reel is shown to the right of reel 3. This reel only contains multipliers of 2x-6x. These multipliers will multiply any wins during the free spins, but the multiplier will depend on what lands on reel 4. I like the extra reel feature especially for a 3×3 slot design, it makes the bonus feature very fun to play and makes you want to grind the base game for the opportunity to play it.

Overall, I enjoyed testing this slot out. The game is very vibrant along with the detailed symbol designs and the sound effects pull it all together for me. The slot is very volatile with the extra pay lines. Bonus multipliers help you land some nice wins as well. The bonus wasn’t too difficult for me to land and you quickly get a couple of extra spins from scatters landing. The game is available 7th February so you can try it out for yourself!
