Canine Carnage Slot Review – Play’n Go
The spooky season of Halloween is over and I can already hear the Christmas music playing. With each studio eager to release their Christmas slot for 2022. Some providers have already announced their creation and some are yet to reveal anything to the casino community. One of these studios is Play’n Go, who last released ‘Count Jokula‘. Which has a max win capped at 8,350x and quirky visual aspects. Today we are learning all about ‘Canine Carnage’, which is available to play now!
This slot has a unique theme combination of post apocalyptic and mans best friend dogs. With the game background shows off a wasteland landscape, which is bare and dry. The main attraction is the reel border, which is a modified mad max looking truck and a canine driver. With rusty metals, spikes and an interesting vehicle design. There are some fun little details such as rust in the shape of bones and paws as some extra little details. Gameplay is sleek with animations standing out and working perfect with the visuals. One of the most unique animations is the Splitter symbols slicing symbols and moving across the rows when they land. Each Canine character has a distinctive design with the outfits made from junk and the animations which can occur when they land. It is an exciting experience playing this game and there is so much going on as you spin. Low paying symbols have a simplistic vibrant design, I think a rusty effect would have looked better but either way they do their job on the reel set. The game background is changed to be set at sunset when you enter the Free Spins feature and a new canine character appears above the reel set awaiting golden bones to go into his bowl. Visually this game definitely hits the mark well and shows off some unique attributes.
Canine Carnage has a classic setup of 5 reels by 3 rows; this includes up to 248,832 pay lines. This slot is medium variance with a set RTP of 96.20% and a max win capped at 3,000x; You can bet from £0.10 to £100.
Canine Carnage Pay Table & Symbols
There are 14 symbols in total; this includes 5 low-paying symbols. These are represented by 10, J, Q, K and A. There are also 4 premium symbols; these are represented by Dobermans, Chihuahuas, Collies and Pugs dressed in futuristic outfits. In addition to these regular symbols is a skull Wild, Multiplier Symbols, Jerry Can Scatters, Golden Bones and Collector Symbol. The highest paying symbol is the skull Wild, which pays 5x for 5 across a pay line. Wilds substitute for all regular symbols. Golden Bones can land anywhere on the reel set.
Canine Carnage Features And Mechanics
3 to 6 Golden Bones symbols can be added to the reel set at random. These symbols will display a random instant prize value of 5x or less. Golden Bones award these instant prizes if the Collector Symbol lands on the reel set.
Any Wild symbol that lands will split all paying symbols in two to the right of it on the same row. Regular symbols, Golden Bones and Wild symbols can be split. 1 to 3 splitter Wilds can also be added to the reel set at random.
Multiplier Symbols can land on any spin or can be added to the reel set at random. Possible multiplier values are 2x, 3x and 5x. All wins that occur on the spin are multiplied by any multiplier symbols that land. When more than one multiplier lands, they are added together, and the total multiplier is used instead.
Free Spins Feature
Landing 3 scatters during a base game spin will trigger the Bone Spins Feature. Awarding 6 Bone Spins, during spins, only Golden Bones and Collector symbols can land. Instant prizes from Golden Bones are awarded instantly and also collected into the Cash Pot. Landing the Collector Symbol awards the Cash Pot value.
1 to 3 features can be active on every Bone Spin. 3 to 6 Golden Bones can be added to the reel set. Multiplier Symbols can be added to the reel set. Multipliers only apply to the Cash Pot Value, accumulating throughout the feature and do not reset. Splitter Symbols will split all Golden Bones on the same row to the right, which will double their value. 1 to 3 Splitter Symbols can be added to the reel set.
Overall, I think this slot is unique thanks to the combination of 2 very different themes transformed into one. The studio has taken a different approach to the post apocalyptic theme, still sticking to the roots but instead we have canine characters wearing interesting outfits. The animations is one part that really stands out for me within the visual aspects. Transforming the gameplay experience completely, but not being overwhelming to look at. There are many small details to look at, including the rust on the car and the outfits each dog is wearing as some examples. This game is not dull despite the lack of colours used and grabs your attention. Now onto the features and mechanics;
The Golden Bones can award small but consistent wins while in the base game. The Splitter Symbols really spice up spins, with symbols wins being worth more if sliced. Plus if you are lucky Multiplier symbols multiplying your wins up to 5x, there is a lot of potential in the base game alone. During Free Spins Golden Bones are now more valuable, with the ability for these to be split and now worth double their value. Plus multipliers will be applied to the accumulated cash prize in the cash pot. Both the base game and Free Spins feature are equally as volatile.
